EatOkra, an app developed by the husband-wife team Anthony and Janique Edwards, has curated over 3,400 black-owned food establishments throughout the United States. The app came about when Mr. Edwards was interested in locating the black-owned restaurants in his area of Brooklyn, NY. “I was curious and started researching restaurants all over New York City and the boroughs, which led me to research other major cities as well,” he said.
The app currently has had over 250,000 downloads providing restaurant and food establishment information in over 25 major cities and the District of Columbia. The app also allows its users to add black-owned businesses. You can download the app from EatOkra.
